Storm damage reports sought from Lafayette County and Oxford residents

The National Weather Service Memphis is gathering damage reports from residents affected by storms that occurred Monday and Tuesday in Lafayette County and Oxford. Lafayette County is within the agency’s survey area, according to a news release.

Residents are encouraged to report any storm-related damage, including downed trees, power lines, roof or structural damage, and hail size. The NWS emphasizes that even minor damage reports are valuable for verifying storm data and enhancing future warnings.

Reporters should include details such as location, approximate time of damage, and photos if available. There are two ways to submit reports: by sending a direct message or comment on social media, or via email at emapio@lafayettecoms.com.

Officials note that every report helps create a complete picture of the storm’s impact on the community, aiding meteorologists in their analysis and response efforts.
