Water and Meal Distribution Sites Open in Lafayette County and Oxford

Distribution sites providing MREs and bottled water are open in Lafayette County and the city of Oxford. The sites will operate from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. while supplies last, according to officials.

Each person is limited to three days’ worth of supplies to ensure more residents can be served, authorities said. In Lafayette County, distribution points include the Harmontown Sheriff’s Office substation at 12 CR 517, Lafayette High School at 160 Commodore Drive, Lafayette County Fire Station 3 at 22 CR 369, and Oasis Church at 861 Highway 6 West.

In Oxford, distribution is available at City Hall, CB Webb, Wayne Johnson, and Thacker at Garden Terrace. Officials urged residents to be patient and courteous, noting that the sites are staffed by National Guard personnel working to serve the community. Supplies are limited and will be distributed until they run out, authorities added.
