Lafayette Wins Hickory Flat Invitational

HICKORY FLAT – The Lafayette Lady Commodores Cross Country team competed in the Hickory Flat Invitational and won in the six-team event. The teams included Ripley, Lewisburg, New Albany, Center Hill, and North Pontotoc.

Not only did the the Lady ‘Dores win the event, but Mia Dawson won the event individually posting a time of 22:36, more than a minute than the second place finisher. Other top finishers for Lafayette included Caroline Wilson (3rd, 25:10), Della Shackelford (5th, 26:13), Valorie Smith (6th, 26:38), Collyn Lewis (10th, 27:51), Ella Shelton (14th, 29:30), Olivia Ball (15th, 29:53), and Addison Johnston (16th, 30:01). The event featured 59 runners that participated.

Lafayette’s next schedule meet will be at the Saltillo Cross Country Invitational next Saturday. Girls will run at 8:30 a.m. while the boys will run at 9:15 a.m.
