The National Weather Service in Memphis issued a wind advisory for Lafayette County from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, according to a notice shared by the Lafayette County Emergency Management Agency. The notice referred to gusty winds from Isaias.

Northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph were expected, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph. The notice said tree limbs could be blown down and that a few power outages were possible.

Driving could be more difficult, particularly for trucks and anyone pulling a trailer. The notice advised residents to secure trash cans, patio furniture and decorations and to charge phones and other devices in case of a power outage.

Residents were also advised to stay away from downed power lines and report them to their power company.

A flood watch remained in effect from 1 a.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday, with 1.5 to 2 inches of rain expected. The notice warned drivers not to travel through water covering a road.

Conditions were expected to improve Saturday night, with drier weather Sunday, according to the notice.
