Oxford MS Police Department Post Highlights Mental Illness Awareness Week Resources
A Facebook post on the Oxford MS Police Department’s page highlighted Mental Illness Awareness Week and encouraged community members to have open conversations about mental health. The post said support is available and that people do not have to face life’s challenges alone.
The post identified Communicare, located in Oxford, as a provider of mental health services, counseling, substance use treatment and crisis support for individuals and families. It directed people to call 1-866-837-7521 for 24/7 crisis support or visit communicarems.org for information about available services.
The post also advised people to call or text 988 for free, confidential, 24/7 support through the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. It said people in immediate danger should call 911.
