FEMA Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Lafayette County on Monday
A FEMA Disaster Recovery Center opens Monday in Lafayette County to support residents impacted by the January 23-27 winter ice storm.
The center will operate at the Lafayette County Multipurpose Arena, located at 70 F.D. Buddy East Parkway in Oxford. It opens at noon and will be open Monday through Saturday, with hours varying from noon to 6 p.m. on opening day, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. It will be closed Sundays, according to FEMA.
Trained specialists at the center will assist visitors with FEMA registration, provide disaster assistance information, and offer referrals to recovery resources, FEMA said.
Residents unable to visit in person can still apply for aid online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by phone at 1-800-621-FEMA, or through the FEMA mobile app available on iOS and Android devices, FEMA added.
