Oxford crews repair sewer main near East Jackson Avenue and 14th Street

The City of Oxford said Water and Sewer crews were working to repair a sewer main near East Jackson Avenue and 14th Street after it broke overnight.

In its update, the city asked people to use caution in the area while the work continued. It described crews using shovels, hammers and heavy machinery to move concrete and dirt around utility lines beneath the streets.

The post said workers relied on hand signals and cameras to help guide heavy machinery within inches of conduit. The City of Oxford also shared photos of the repair work.
