Oxford Partners with Communicare to Install Narcan Vending Machine

The city of Oxford announced a partnership with Communicare to install a publicly accessible Narcan vending machine, aiming to save lives and enhance community health. Narcan (naloxone) is a medication that can quickly reverse opioid overdoses, providing critical aid until emergency responders arrive, according to city officials.

Police Chief Jeff McCutchen emphasized that the initiative aligns with the city’s mission to serve with wisdom and compassion. He said the vending machine is an additional resource during medical emergencies and does not replace law enforcement, emergency services, or addiction treatment.
