Oxford police award three officers for teamwork in suspect arrest

Oxford police have recognized three officers with the Blue Line Award for their efforts in apprehending a suspect involved in multiple offenses. Officer Morgan Owens identified and detained a suspect after a female citizen reported non-consensual surveillance on August 15, according to police.

At the same time, Officer Micah Taylor and PACE Officer Stephen Allen reviewed hours of downtown surveillance footage. Their investigation linked the suspect to additional felony offenses committed earlier that day, police said.

Police praised the officers for their teamwork and attention to detail, which helped remove a dangerous individual from the streets and protect the community. The department highlighted their actions as an example of its mission to serve with wisdom and compassion while fostering a safe and connected community.

Officials did not specify the identity of the suspect or provide further details about the offenses. The officers’ quick actions were commended by police leadership for their dedication to public safety.
