Oxford police officers complete advanced crime scene training in Texas

Investigative Sgt. Kam Herod and Investigator Atziri Ortiz of the Oxford Police Department completed a 40-hour course on crime scene analysis and processing in Denton, Texas, according to a department news release.

The training, hosted by the Denton Police Department, covered crime scene documentation, evidence collection and preservation, photography, and hands-on processing techniques. It aimed to enhance the officers’ investigative skills.

Department officials said the additional training helps officers conduct thorough investigations and better serve victims. The department congratulated Sgt. Herod and Investigator Ortiz on completing the course.
