Oxford police public information officer recognized for community storytelling

Oxford Police Department’s Public Information Officer Breck Jones has been recognized for his role in enhancing community engagement through storytelling. Jones, who transitioned from a dispatcher to the department’s first PIO in 2019, has focused on sharing the department’s stories to build connections with residents, according to Chief Jeff McCutchen.

“Breck Jones has become an innovator in our field,” McCutchen said. “His skillset and storytelling have allowed us to reach millions of people each month, impacting not only the City of Oxford but policing across the state.”

Jones expressed appreciation for the recognition and emphasized his gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community. “This job has given me opportunities I never could have imagined,” he said. “I’m thankful every day to work with such a dedicated and caring team.”
