Oxford School District names Jason Kennedy as new girls basketball coach
Oxford School District announced the hiring of Jason Kennedy as the new head girls basketball coach. Kennedy brings a history of success, including multiple championship appearances and Coach of the Year honors, according to district officials.
During his coaching career, Kennedy has helped 35 student-athletes reach the college level. He most recently coached at St. Martin High School, leading the team to a District 4-7A Championship and a Final Four appearance. He was also named District Coach of the Year.
Kennedy previously coached at Pearl High School, where he led the team to a 6A State Championship and earned several coaching awards at the state and national levels. The district welcomed Kennedy and his family and expressed enthusiasm for his leadership of the girls basketball program.
