Oxford woman arrested on child endangerment charges in Lafayette County

LAFAETTE COUNTY, Miss. — Neely Taylor, 23, of Oxford, Mississippi, was arrested on child endangerment charges following an investigation by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office received information from Child Protective Services on July 30, 2026, suggesting Taylor may have exposed her children to harmful drugs, according to a news release. Drug testing in August confirmed positive results for narcotics for Taylor and her two children.

Based on these findings, authorities obtained warrants for her arrest. Taylor was taken into custody at her residence on August 18 without incident. She is held at the Lafayette County Detention Center with a bond set at $20,000. She also has an active hold from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
