Police seek suspect in vehicle burglary at Tupelo Walmart
Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi and the Tupelo Police Department are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect involved in a vehicle burglary at Walmart in Tupelo.
The incident occurred March 8 around 7:08 p.m. at the Walmart Neighborhood Market on South Gloster Street, according to police. Officers responded to a report of a theft after a woman loading groceries into her vehicle discovered her purse was missing.
Police say an unidentified man entered the victim’s vehicle and stole her purse before fleeing on foot down Carnation Street, behind a nearby business. The purse was later recovered in the area, but approximately $300 in cash was taken, authorities said.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers of Northeast Mississippi at 800-773-TIPS (8477) or to submit an anonymous tip via the P3 Tip App. Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest. Officials emphasized they do not want the caller’s name, only their information, and encouraged sharing the QR code for the app.
