Severe weather risk expands northeastward, with large hail possible

The National Weather Service has expanded the slight risk for severe storms into areas northeast of the original forecast region. Forecasters warn that large hail and damaging winds are the primary concerns with these storms, according to a statement issued Thursday.

Environment conditions suggest the possibility of very large hail, up to 2 inches in diameter, in some areas. Authorities advise residents in the affected regions to stay alert for severe weather warnings and take appropriate safety precautions.

Officials continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
