Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office shares school bus safety reminder

The Lafayette County Sheriff's Office shared a school bus safety reminder advising drivers to stop when a bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.

The reminder said drivers should not pass the bus because children may be crossing the road and can be difficult to see. Drivers were also advised to slow down, stay alert and give students space to get to school safely.

The office said that patience can help protect a child's life.
